Please Consider Supporting Operation Raise a Flag for Remembrance Day
On November 11th, Canadians will observe two minutes of silence at 11:00 AM to commemorate those who proudly served to protect Canada in wars past.
We can show appreciation for our Canadian Veterans in a few ways. First, please consider buying a poppy from your local Royal Canadian Legion as this small act goes a long way. Not only does it present a united front in thanking and remembering the brave men and women who did their part for our country and our freedom, but all proceeds will help provide financial assistance and support to our Veterans.
You can also join A1 Air Conditioning and Heating
in purchasing a flag through
Operation Raise a Flag.
On November 10, volunteers will gather at the ground of Sunnybrook Veterans Centre and plant flags to honour our Veterans. As Veterans awaken on the morning of Remembrance Day, the goal is to have a stunning sea of Canadian flags greet them as they look out their windows to thank them for their service.
You can help make this goal possible by purchasing a flag for only $25. In addition to adding to the flags at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre, your donation will make everyday life for our Veterans better by providing them with special extras.
Remembrance Day hits especially close to home for A1 Air Conditioning & Heating. Our founder, Walter Messenger was a Royal Engineer tank mechanic during WWII and his son, Paul Messenger was a Navy aircraft mechanic that worked on Trackers (aircraft used by the Navy in its anti-submarine operations). Last year, A1 made a $2,000 donation to the Heritage Warplane Museum to help ensure all Canadian youth and future generations can be educated on the wars their ancestors fought in.
A1 is honoured to have our name inscribed on the Museum’s hangar door and we would like to encourage others to consider making a donation to this or another worthy cause this Remembrance Day.
Each of us has likely read or heard a war veteran’s account of their time spent at war. These brave men and women should be recognized for their sacrifice and never forgotten. This November 11th, remember what they sacrificed and please consider contributing to the preservation of their memory.
A1 Air Conditioning and Heating is proud to serve the GTA and to
financially support the following organizations:
The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum
Wounded Warriors Canada, which provides physical and emotional assistance and support to wounded veterans and their families.
True Patriot Love, which supports veterans and military families in successfully integrating back into regular society.
You can also support our veterans by buying a poppy from your local Royal Canadian Legion. This small act goes a long way in presenting a united front in thanking and remembering the brave men and women who did their part for our country and our freedom.
