Ontario’s Heating and Cooling Rebates Cancelled
On March 21st, 2019, the Ontario government announced that the Conservation First Framework, including the Heating and Cooling Incentive Program, will be discontinued. In an effort to reduce costs, Ontario’s Minister of Energy, Northern Development and Mines says that the framework for the program will shift from a Local Distribution Company (LDC) delivery system, to a central program delivery model administered through the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO). The Conservation First Framework will be officially be phased-out as of April 1, 2019.
What does this mean to A1 customers?
Heating or air conditioning projects that have already been completed and submitted for payment will be processed according to the Participant Terms and Conditions. This means, A1 Air Conditioning & Heating has until May 31, 2019 to submit incentive applications for projects with an installation date of no later than April 30, 2019.
- April 30, 2019: Deadline for Participating Contractors to complete installations
- May 31, 2019: Deadline for Participating Contractors to submit incentive applications
- June 30, 2019: Deadline for Participants to submit proof of purchase and sign-off on applications
