Last Minute Halloween Safety Tips
With Halloween upon us, we just want to remind everyone of a few last minute safety tips to keep everyone safe, healthy and happy!
Costume Safety Tips
Halloween safety tips about costumes are echoed every year, but they are definitely worth repeating. Please make sure that children’s costumes can be seen in the dark — incorporate reflective tape, glow sticks or light coloured items into their costumes. Additionally, make sure that they can easily move around and that the costume won’t be a tripping hazard.
Halloween Safety Tips for Homeowners
Remember, the best way to signal you have treats for the little ones is to turn on porch lights. Make sure any decorations are out of the way and won’t be a safety hazard for kids running to your door. Use battery-powered candles in your jack-o-lanterns, or make sure that any candles out of reach of kids’ costumes and feet.
Pet Safety Tips
While we love to take our dogs with us everywhere, Halloween can be a stressful time for our pets. The masks, costumes and the sheer number of people out and about can agitate pets. Keep them at home while you trick-or-treat — they’ll appreciate it.
Halloween Driving Safety Tips
If you’re going to be out on the road during the prime trick-or-treating time, please use extra caution. This is definitely a time to slow down in residential areas and keep an eye out for children darting across the street.
