Your fall home maintenance checklist
So it wasn’t the warmest of summers.
On the plus side, we have the gorgeous Canadian autumn season to look forward to! Falling leaves, pumpkin patches and warm apple pie… it just doesn’t get any better than that.
In preparation for the coming season, A1 has put together a home maintenance checklist designed to help you prepare your home for fall.
Seal the cracks in your driveway. Inspect your driveway for any cracks. Clean thoroughly and then seal using a driveway filler product (available at your local home improvement store). A cracked driveway can deteriorate quickly during the freezing winter months.
Seal the cracks around your windows. As the temperature begins to drop, it is important to seal any cracks around your windows to prevent warm air from leaving your house. Caulk is a popular and inexpensive option for sealing windows.
Check & Clean your furnace. The last thing you want to worry about is your furnace breaking down on the first cold day of the season. Call an HVAC professional to inspect your unit. Better yet, give us a call for trusted, quality service: 905-844-2949.
Inspect your roof. Visually inspect your roof from the ground looking for any loose shingles or other damages. If you spot any troubled areas, call a trained professional to check it out.
Clean your eavestroughs. Clean out your eavestroughs after the leaves have fallen. Flush them out with water and inspect the joints to make sure that there are no breaks.
